India in Zimbabwe 2013: Series Preview

The selector of Zimbabwe has not given any chance to Mpofu, Rainsford & Panyangara to play against India on their home ground! Zero experience in the attack! Indians' batting averages will soar! I knew employing a reject school coach as Head Coach & Selector of the national team was going to be a disaster. This is by far the worst side ever selected by Zimbabwe since the unavoidable lean years.

India in Zimbabwe 2013: Series Preview

Dropped Shingi! Again! Seriously? Is this a way to retain in the XI, the worst frontline seamer to ever represent Zimbabwe in red colours(untouchable Jarvis), through citing a lack of experience on the part of Chinouya?

What on earth is Cremer still doing in a Zimbabwe national side? Just 6 specialist batsmen in the whole squad, 2 of whom(Raza&Waller) are potentially passengers. Surely there was room for Matsikenyeri!

India in Zimbabwe Series Schedule for 2013

Why not bring in Chamu Chibhabha or Stuart Matsikenyeri both who are better that Timycen and Waller.

The best we can do out of this to try and out-bat India, plus have sufficient bowling options is: Vusi, Raza, Hami, Taylor(c-wk), Williams, Chigumbura, Maruma, Utseya, Mutombodzi, Vitori, Chatara.

Quicks where is Ed Rainsford not sure why he is again overlooked Shingi should be there even if he is expensive he takes wickets and adds good lower order batting. Rainsford and Shingi in for the youngster Chinouya and 1 of the spinners. Jarvis must bowl well as the selectors continue to show faith after average performances in the coloured forms of cricket.

There are a lot of riches in abundance in Indian cricket. MS Dhoni can relax and have some rest at home. This series against Zimbabwe is a ripe opportunity for India to test their bench strength. I think Gambhir and Pujara should feature in the team. Rohit Sharma has been given too many opportunities and he still hasn't capitalized on good starts. How many more chances are they going to give him ? Also, I still feel Yuvraj has a lot to offer to the Indian team. A lot of exciting things happening in Indian cricket. India is a strong side with multiple talents. Also there is not any news on Varun Aaron. Indian bowling needs some oiling, it's still their major weakness. But against Zimbabwe it may not a concern to worry.

Dhoni still has another 3-4 years in him. There is plenty to learn from him to Team, Kholi should not be encouraged with captaincy, he need to focus & consistently deliver. He is too aggressively temperamental to be a Captain, Also, I see he is showing his differences in Field on other players.

Any Indian fan can easily says that India will thump Zimbabwe 5-0, which is believable when you look at all the batting options, particularly when they click. Unfortunately, I feel Zimbabwe has a far much better bowling attack - both spinners(economy) and seamers(wickets).
