Foreign Players in SLPL 2011

2011 Sri Lankan Premier League is the first edition of domestic cricket competition of Sri Lanka which will take place on 19 July and continues up to 4 August. Many foreign players are invited to take part in this competition such as from Australia, India, etc.

Sri Lanka Premier League 2011 : Teams & Logos

Sri Lanka Premier League is Twenty 20 cricket competition of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka Premier League 2011 contains seven teams and these teams can be identified with their logos. People will enjoy this tournament from 19 July to 4 August.

Previously, this tournament was called as Inter-Provincial Twenty20. Its new name credit goes to Somerert Entertainment Ventures as they have updated cricket leagues in the country. Seven teams of Sri Lanka Premier League 2011 comprise Basnahira, Ruhuna, Kandurata, Nagenahira, Wayamba, Uthuru, and Uva. If this season will be successful then extra teams will be included in near future. More than 30 international cricketers are invited to play in this tournament. Every team will play with other teams and first four winner teams will find a place in semifinal.

Schedule for Sri Lanka Premier League 2011 unveiled

Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) 2011, a first version of new official Twenty20 cricket competition of Sri Lanka, will start from 19 July and continue up to 4 August. All matches will be played on Colombo's Premadasa stadium. Schedule and teams name have been unveiled for Sri Lanka Premier League 2011.

After IPL (Indian Premier League), players will get another chance to play in jumbo Premier league which will be started by Sri Lanka cricket board as “Sri Lanka Premier League”. SLPL 2011 will be Sri Lanka’s first premier league conducted for 18 days from 19th July 2011 to 4th August 2011. Total 7 teams will participate in SLPL 2011 that is Basnahira Bears, Nagenahira Nagas, Kandurata Kites, Uthura Oryxes, Ruhuna Rhinos, Wayamba Wolves, and Uva Unicorns. All team have privileges to add only 5 overseas players in their team. The seven team will play total 24 matches, which will be telecasted live worldwide.
