Cricket executives, fans and players are in shock by the death of Mr. Hughes. The funeral is scheduled to take place on 3rd December at the Macksville High School sports stadium.
An outburst of emotion sparked up nationwide after the tragic death of 25-year-old Australian cricketer, Phillip Hughes. He passed away from a "catastrophic" injury to his head on November 27, just three days before his birthday. He battled for life for two days at the St Vincent's Hospital, after being struck on the head by a bouncer in a Sheffield Shield game on November 25. The Hughes' funeral will be held on December 3 at 2pm in the Macksville High School sports stadium.
Hughes' funeral will be witnessed by around 5000 people including past and present cricketers. The funeral procession moves through the mid-north coast town’s streets so the shops will be shut down on Wednesday. The journey from Coffs Harbour to Macksville will take about 45 minutes by car.
