2011 Sri Lanka Premier League is going to start from 19th July 2011 to 4th August 2011. 7 teams will take part in SLPL. There will be 24 matches in the tournament: 21 league matches, 2 semi final matches and 1 SLPL 2011 Final which will be played at Premadasa Stadium. Colombo. Wayamba Wolves is one of the 7 teams that will participate in SLPL. Wayamba Wolves cricket team is standing for North Western Province of Sri Lanka. Mahela Jayawardene is the Captain of the Wayamba Wolves team in Sri Lanka Premier League.
Wayamba team is Sri Lankan 1st class cricket team which was established in 1990. It is based in Kurunegala. The team participates in 2 provincial tournaments such as the Inter-Provincial Tournament and the Inter-Provincial Twenty20. From Sri Lanka Premier Trophy the players for the team were drawn. In the 2007-2008 Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament, after the final match was drawn because of rain, Wayamba province cricket team became joint champions with Kandurata. Wayamba team includes many well-known and experienced players who had played for Wayamba province cricket team.
