Kandurata Kites is among the 7 teams of Sri Lanka Premier League. Sri Lanka Premier League is going to start from 19th July 2011 to 4th August 2011. Kandurata Kites is based in Kandy and represent the Central Province of Sri Lanka. Kumar Sangakkara is the captain as well as wicket keeper of the team. Kandurata Kites was created in 1990 and got its name from the Sinhalese word "Kandurata" which means "Hill country".




Kandurata Kites takes part in all the 3 provincial tournaments such as Inter-Provincial First Class Tournament (the first class cricket competition), the Inter-Provincial Limited Over Tournament (the List A cricket competition) and the Inter-Provincial Twenty20 (theTwenty20 competition). In 2007-08 Inter-provincial Limited Overs Tournament Kandurata reached the finals and won their all round robin matches.
